Effective August 1, 2024, we will be implementing pricing adjustments for QuickBooks products and services. These changes are part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing the QuickBooks platform to better serve you and your clients. Our aim is to provide an integrated, online solution that supports your journey as trusted advisors, empowering you to drive growth and streamline operations.

Here are some highlights of what you can expect:

  1. Enhanced Features and Functionality: We are introducing powerful AI capabilities through Intuit Assist to automate tasks, save time, and accelerate business operations. These enhancements will enable you to deliver more informed advice to your clients.
  2. Improved Accounting Workflows: We have enhanced core accounting workflows within QuickBooks Online Accountant, including new document management features and accountant-only views. These updates are designed to simplify how you manage client transactions and application usage.
  3. Advanced Payroll Features: Our latest updates include deeper integration between QuickBooks Payroll and QuickBooks Time, advanced payroll cost allocation, bulk pay item management, and an HR hub for comprehensive employee record management. Additionally, we are pleased to announce a new healthcare partnership with Allstate Health Solutions, offering additional benefits to your clients (services sold separately, terms and conditions apply).

QuickBooks Online

The subscription prices for QuickBooks Online Self-Employed, Simple Start, Essentials, Plus, and Advanced will be adjusted on the dates specified in the table below. There are no changes to QuickBooks Ledger pricing at this time.

QuickBooks Online Payroll

The pricing for QuickBooks Online Core, Premium, and Elite products, as well as related per-employee charges, will be updated on the dates specified in the table below.

  • QuickBooks Online Payroll Core, Premium, and Elite client-billed subscriptions

QuickBooks Desktop

We’ve listened to your feedback and want to inform you that we are extending the deadline to discontinue sales of several desktop products. Originally planned for July 31, 2024, we will now cease new subscriptions for QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus, Premier Plus, Mac Plus, and Desktop Enhanced Payroll after September 30, 2024. Renewals will continue to be supported beyond this date.

The updated pricing detailed below reflects the value our products offer and considers comparable offerings in the market. This adjustment aims to encourage businesses to evaluate both QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop, choosing the solution that best aligns with their specific needs.

The revised subscription rates for QuickBooks Desktop will come into effect as indicated in the table below.

October 1, 2024

  • QuickBooks Pro Plus, QuickBooks Mac Plus, and QuickBooks Premier Plus subscriptions

October 1, 2024

  • QuickBooks Desktop Accountant, ProAdvisor Premier Bundle, and ProAdvisor Enterprise Bundle for all subscriptions

October 1, 2024

  • ProAdvisor Enterprise Bundle pricing with 12.5% and 20% discounts on new QuickBooks Enterprise subscriptions no longer applies
  • The discounts on existing QuickBooks Enterprise subscriptions purchased before October 1, 2024 will continue upon renewal, at this time. However, these discounts will no longer apply when modifications and changes are made to existing orders on or after October 1, 2024, as they result in new subscriptions.

QuickBooks Desktop Payroll

QuickBooks Desktop Payroll prices for existing customers will take effect on the dates.

October 1, 2024

  • QuickBooks Desktop Basic and Enhanced Payroll annual and monthly subscriptions, and per employee fees

December 1, 2024

  • QuickBooks Legacy Enhanced Unlimited and QuickBooks Legacy Enhanced Limited annual and monthly subscriptions

January 1, 2025

  • New fees apply when paying W2 employees via direct deposit in QuickBooks Legacy Enhanced

October 1, 2024

  • Enhanced Payroll for Accountants annual and monthly subscriptions

January 1, 2025

  • New fees apply when paying W2 employees via direct deposit in Enhanced Payroll for Accountants 
  • Intuit will send a 30-day notice to your impacted clients in December 2024, addressed to the primary principals’ email address on file, because the employee direct deposit fee is billed directly to your clients
