Operating systems which can be used:
QuickBooks Enterprise works best in Windows XP (US version) and above. However, if you want to use QuickBooks Enterprise in Windows 7, make sure to use Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate. Hardware Requirements
Hardware requirements may differ as per the operating system you use. To run QuickBooks 2008 and QuickBooks Enterprise solutions 8 on Windows XP, a 2.0 GHz processor with 512 MB of RAM on client computers, and 1 GB of RAM are the minimum requirement. For Windows Vista (16- and 32- bit), the requirement increases to a minimum of 2.8 GHz processor and 1 GB RAM.
QuickBooks software occupies about 1GB of disk space and your working files will consume ample amount of space too.
Supporting software
This version of QuickBooks supports various components of Microsoft Office. This helps in preparation of reports, letters and contact synchronization as well. In addition to other hardware components, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook from 2000, 2002, 2003 or 2007 editions are required, along with Adobe Acrobat Reader (Version 5) or its updated versions. You may need additional RAM if you run these applications simultaneously for best performance.
Additional Requirements
A high speed internet connection is recommended, regardless of the operating system that you have installed. QuickBooks 2008 and QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions 8 need a minimum of 40 Mbps bandwidth on a 100 Mbps router/switch. You would also need a CD-ROM drive which runs at 4x speed and a monitor of 1024/768 screen resolution or higher. Make sure that you have installed anti-virus programs like Mc Afee, Symantec, Trend Micro PC-cilin or Zone Alarm.
