Download and install the ODBC driver

1. Click on the File menu in your QuickBooks
2. Choose Utilities
3. Then select Set Up ODBC
4. Go to the General tab in the window that opens next. Then follow the below-mentioned instructions:
   • Choose Use the Company file that’s now open in the QuickBooks option
   • In the Data Source Name, enter QuickBooks Data
   • Click the Test Connection to QuickBooks Make sure you’re signed in as Admin to be allowed to run the test connection.
   • You get the message: Test Connection to QuickBooks Successful
   • Click OK and then choose Apply
5. Click on the Message tab
   • Uncheck the Detail Tracing (Slow) checkbox
   • Click Display Optimizer Status Panel checkboxes
   • To view QODBC working status, choose Display Driver Status Panel (Optional step)
   • Click Apply as soon as you go through and understand the details
6. Click the Optimizer tab
   • Click on the Use Optimizer checkbox
   • The recommended path or the default Optimizer path to be used is %AppData%\QODBC Driver for QuickBooks\Optimizer
   • Select The start of every query
   • Click Apply
7. Click OK and you exit the ODBC Driver setup

Note: The time taken for the initial optimization may differ based on the size of the file. It usually takes hours. The more transactions will mean longer time for optimization
