Process For Upgrading to Sage 2020 Version [Manual & Automatic]
The company has made an announcement to launch Sage 50 2020 in July 2019. The pervasive v11 is now going to be upgraded to Actian Zen v13. Before that, let’s take a look at how to upgrade your Sage automatically or manually.
Use admin credentials to log-in to your Sage
To start the upgrade, first log-in to your Sage. Make sure that you have logged-in to Sage with administrator rights. Contact Local Administrator if you don’t have administrator rights. Connect to Sage 2020 Support Number if want to add more restriction to specific user.
To download the update automatically and install it:
1. Double-click on the software to open it.
2. Now, go to your menu bar and then click on help to check for updates.
3. Here, you will see on-screen instructions. Follow them.
Method #1: Open software to check for update
Step I: Click on Help and check for Product Updates
1. If you have updated version already installed in your system, it will show you the message “You are up-to-date”
2. If there is any update available, you will be responded with the message “Update is available, download and install it now.” Once the download is ready, it will ask you to install the upgrade. Click on Install Now.
3. Select the Install button and the installation process will start. Follow all on-screen instructions as they prompt on the screen.
4. Once you get the installation successful option, click on the finish by leaving the checkmark as it was. This will open the Sage automatically.
5. A Sage splash screen will open that will show what all are upgraded to the new version.
Method #2: Update the software manually
Step I: Check if the software has been downloaded or not
1. Click on the Windows Start button and then click on Computer
2. Now, follow the path of the directory C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\Sage Software\Simply Accounting\Download
3. If you don’t find the folder, move to the next folder.
4. If you don’t see the file, there may be some error moving the file to the network.
5. To run the .exe file, run it.
6. You will get installation wizard instructions. Follow them as they are displayed on the screen.
Step II: Installation of the software on the multiple systems
1. Copy the file to the drive or you can take it to the mail and paste it on the other drive.
2. Now, use the drive to run the update from the system.
Method #3: Here are the steps to download the update manually:
1. Follow the steps of method 2 and then you will see the download button.
2. It will take you to the new download product page.
3. Select the download orange button here. If necessary, it will take you to the new .NET Framework installation page. Once done, click on the back button to go back to the previous page.
4. Now, wait for the download to complete.
5. Follow the instruction as mentioned in method 1.
Your Sage 50 2020 is now installed and ready for the use.
